Information and communications technology (ICT) is increasingly influencing our daily lives, interpersonal relations and attitude  toward nature. It also  affects  the  way  we  approach outdoor learning and other outdoor activities. At the conference, through presentations, practical workshops, panel discussions and numerous other activities, we presented various ways in which ICT can be used for outdoor learning by improving the understanding of natural processes, motivating, enabling the development of social competences and improving the learning process overall.

Teachers, researchers and other experts from Slovenia and other countries in Europe and around the globe attended the international conference Outdoor Learning Didactics: ICT and Outdoor Learning with presentations of good practices from their fields of expertise or just followed the conference online and participated with questions and comments. The conference was an excellent opportunity for an exchange of ideas, opinions and good practices, as well as networking with other participants. It also offered several practical challenges using ICT outdoors that even distance participants were able to take part in.

The conference was open to all teachers, practitioners and other experts interested in experiential learning, especially those that encourage learning in natural environments.

Due to the situation with COVID-19, participants from countries other than Slovenia had the option of participating and presenting online.

The cost of the conference was covered through project funding, so there was no fee for online participation.
