Conference Overview

In the context of European integration, outdoor education is not only a pedagogical approach but also a social and cultural connector. This conference brings together educators, youth workers, researchers, and policymakers to explore the transformative power of outdoor education in building a more united and cohesive Europe.

Conference Objectives

The theme Connecting and Sharing reflects the event’s aim to foster:

  • Cross-border and intercultural dialogue between academics and practitioners
  • Exchange of practices in natural environments, organizational models, and policy contexts, collaboration with local communities and teacher education
  • Promotion of physical and social mobility
  • Identification of common European values and shared educational practices

Call for Papers and Workshops
We invite contributions that align with the conference themes.

Presentation Formats:

  • Oral Presentation, 20-minute talk + 10-minute Q&A
  • Outdoor Practitioner Workshop, 90-minute active session
  • Poster Presentation, A1 size with 3–5 min oral summary

Submission Deadline: 30 March 2026

Submit your abstract (300–400 words) via the [APPLICATION FORM].
Accepted abstracts will be peer-reviewed and published in the Book of Abstracts.

  • Full Conference Fee: 150 €
  • One-Day Participation: 50 €

The fee includes program access, materials, and organizational costs.

To ensure that a wide range of organizations and practices can be represented, your application to the conference will be reviewed and confirmed later in the registration process.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available at CŠOD Bohinj in shared 3- or 4-bed rooms. Participants pay only the cost of overnight stay (around 40 € per night). Limited availability at CŠOD Bohinj.

There will be free of charge meals for all registered participants during the conference, including those not accommodated in CŠOD Bohinj.

Travel and Shuttle Information

Arrival:

Fly to Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU).
From there, travel by shuttle or bus to Ljubljana and then continue by bus to Bohinj Jezero or Pod Voglom.

Disembark at Lesce-Bled railway station, then continue by bus to Bohinj.

Certification:  At the end of the conference, each participant will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance, together – if requested – with the Europass Mobility Certificate.
