Participate in either or both of the two awesome conference challenges we have prepared for you!

Both challenges will be open until Thursday, July 1st, 14:00 CEST, so do not miss the chance to explore and compete with other participants from the international arena!

CHALLENGE 1:

From your NASA GLOBE Observer presenters for the Outdoor Learning Didactics: ICT and Outdoor Learning conference:

We would like you to try out the GLOBE Observer app and collect some data prior to our presentation so we can discuss your local observations during our talk, and answer any questions you have about using the app. Please download the GLOBE Observer app (https://observer.globe.gov/get-the-app), and create a free account using an email address. If you already have a GLOBE account (as a GLOBE Teacher, for example), you can use that to log into the app. Then, please join the OutdoorLearningSlovenia GLOBE Team. You can do this by entering the referral code GLIDB39E when creating a new account, by tapping the “Join a Team” button in the settings page of the app, or by clicking on the “Join Team” button on the team landing page, https://www.globe.gov/web/outdoorlearningslovenia, while logged in to your GLOBE account.

All the training you need before taking observations is contained within the app itself, as well as guiding instructions during data collection. Please try to take at least one observation each using the Trees and Clouds tool within the app before June 30th. You can see a video call to action for this data collection challenge here: https://youtu.be/j_EeagW8BxM. Looking forward to talking to you more, and exploring your local data!

Regards,

Kristen Weaver, deputy coordinator for GLOBE Observer, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Maryland

Brian Campbell, science lead for GLOBE Observer Trees, NASA Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops, Virginia

Be prepared for a fun outdoor adventure solving challenges, earning points and discovering collectible cards. You can greet us with interesting screen shots on our Padlet wall.

The person posting the largest number of different collectible card screenshots on the Padlet wall, as well as everyone who manages to collect all three hidden mythical being collectible cards and posts the screenshots on the Padlet wall, will be eligible for special mystery prizes!
